A story of evolution

2016

VALNOR acquires a new brand and a new image, embodying a new Group strategy that gives greater visibility to synergistic and partnership-based operations. In the same year, two multi-material selective collection vehicles are acquired.

2015

Biogas exchange / Biogas engines and Anaerobic Digestion; Construction and Assembly of the Water Recirculation Line for the Plastic Washing Unit; Acquisition of three light goods vehicles and Change in the shareholding structure of EGF, with the acquisition by the Mota-Engil and Urbaser Group from the Portuguese State.

2014

Plastics Washing Unit for plastics from mechanical treatment at the Organic Recovery Plant; Acquisition of recycling bins for selective collection and Sealing of the Concavada Landfill.

2013

Biological drying tests on waste from the Mechanical Treatment Plant; Changes/adaptations to the Proença Transfer Station; Changes to the biogas collection and drainage system at the Concavada Landfill and purchase of a trailer for urban solid waste activities.

2012

Consolidation of the exploitation of energy from biogas produced at the Concavada Landfill and consolidation of the exploitation of the Waste-Derived Fuel Preparation Unit.

2011

Start of anaerobic digestion operations, energy recovery from biogas produced at the Concavada Landfill (currently in the testing phase) and operations at the Waste-derived Fuel Preparation Unit, also currently in the testing phase.

2010

Integration of six new municipalities and start of operations at the Integrated Solid Waste Recovery and Treatment Centre (Castelo Branco).

2009

Consolidation of the operation of the Organic Waste Treatment Plant and construction of the Municipal Solid Waste Transfer Station in Abrantes.

2008

Start of operations at the Organic Waste Treatment Plant, currently in the testing phase.

2007

Installation of the Centre for the dismantling and decontamination of end-of-life vehicles and electrical and electronic equipment; Construction of the Biodiesel Production Unit, the Scrap and Bulky Waste Dismantling Centre and Assembly of the mobile screening and crushing unit.

2006

Company certification in social responsibility and start of operations at the Integrated Solid Waste Recovery and Treatment Centre (Abrantes).

2005

Integration of five new municipalities, expansion of the selective collection system, and commencement of used cooking oil collection activities.

2003

Integrated certification of the company in Quality, Environment and Safety; Reinforcement of the selective collection system (+ 150 recycling bins) and start of door-to-door collection activity.

2004

Revaluation and expansion of the Integrated Centre for Solid Waste Recovery and Treatment (Avis); Construction of a new Urban Solid Waste cell, the Workshop Centre and Inauguration of the Technical and Administrative facilities.

2002

Closure of 22 rubbish dumps, implementation of a selective collection system; construction of a sorting station and four MSW transfer stations.

2001

Establishment and commencement of activity.
